Are eurosceptics taking their eye off the ball?

Eurosceptics are trying to defend Britain's independence and sovereignty from the influence of Brussels. But what about the huge influence the US weilds over Britain? How can someone who claims to defend Britain's independence ignore the inequality of their country's relationship with the US?

"But Brussels decides 80 % of our laws" I hear you say, the Americans don't do that!

Or... "We speak the same language as the americans and share deep cultural links" we can trust them!
